Our Welcome Message

A big hello from Miss SandhuMrs Bryan and Mrs Ball.  Well, done everybody for settling into Year One brilliantly.  We are looking forward to lots of learning and fun in year one.

What we will be learning in the Autumn term

 In Maths we will focus on Number & Place Value to 10 and  Addition & Subtraction to 10.   

In English we have started off reading the traditional tale Little Red Hen, children have been retelling the story orally with actions.

Our Science topic is Materials, we will be looking at a range of materials naming and describing their properties.

In Music we will be learning new songs using Charanga

Our Jigsaw Topic

 In Jigsaw we will start off with the topic of ‘Being me in my world’ where we will look at our hopes and fears for this year, our rights and responsibilities, rewards and consequences, safe and fair learning environment, valuing contributions, choices and recognising feelings.


 Homework will need to be accessed online through Class Charts, it will be set on a Friday  we will inform you when this is ready.

To help you child progress further, we expect them to log into Bug club, Lexia and Oxford Owl every week.

Parent Notices

Doors open: 9:00 – 09.10am

Finish time: 3.10pm

Please send your child with a water bottle into school everyday.

If your child would like milk the price is £1 for the week, payments need to be made through the School Gateway APP by Monday morning.

PE - All children should come dressed in their PE kit on the following days:

1B– Thursday and Friday

1S- Wednesday and Thursday

1SB- Wednesday and Friday

PE Kit: Plain t-shirt, black shorts or joggers and trainers. T-shirts with patterns and football shirts are not permitted. Trainers or pumps must be worn. Earrings must be taken out on days your child has PE.

Please ensure that all uniforms, P.E. kits, lunchboxes and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child`s full name.
