We hope you have had a restful break with your families. We are delighted to have the children back at school who have already shown a great amount of resilience by settling back into our  school routines very quickly!

What you will be learning in the Autumn term

Maths -

  • Count in steps of 2, 3 and 5 from 0, and in tens from any number, forward and
  • -Read and write numbers to at least 100 in numerals and in words.
  • - Recognise the place value of each digit in a two-digit number (tens, ones).
  • -Compare and order numbers from 0 up to 100; use [less than], [greater than] and = signs.
  • - Use place value and number facts to solve problems.
  • - add and subtract numbers using concrete objects, pictorial representations, and mentally, including:
  • a two-digit number and ones
  • a two-digit number and tens g. 87 – 30 = 57
  • - begin to recall and use addition and subtraction facts to 20, g. 19 – 7 = 12 and derive and use related facts up to 100
  • g. 30 = 90 – 60

 In English we have started off reading the traditional tale Little Red Riding, children have been retelling the story orally with actions.

Our Science topic is Materials, we will be looking at a range of materials and describing their properties and uses.

In Music we will be learning to play the Jimbay drums with Mrs George.

Our Jigsaw Topic

 In Jigsaw we will start off with the topic of ‘Being me in my world’ where we will look at our hopes and fears for this year, our rights and responsibilities, rewards and consequences, safe and fair learning environment, valuing contributions, choices and recognising feelings.

Please check the school website regularly for updates. Jigsaw celebrations for each class will be added weekly.


 Homework will need to be accessed online through Google Classroom, it will be set on a Friday  we will inform you when this is ready.

To help you child progress further, we expect them to log into Bug club, Lexia and Mathletics every week.

Parent Notices

 Doors open: 8.40 - 8.50 am

Finish time: 2.50pm

 Please send your child with a water bottle into school everyday.

If your child would like milk the price is £1 for the week, payments need to be made through the School Gateway APP by Monday morning.

PE - All children should come dressed in their PE kit on the following days:

2K– Monday and Tuesday

2JP  – Monday and Tuesday

2P – Monday and Friday

PE Kit: Plain t-shirt, black shorts or joggers and trainers. T-shirts with patterns and football shirts are not permitted. Trainers or pumps must be worn. Earrings must be taken out on days your child has PE.
